Two greenfield migrations to SAP S/4HANA as P2P business consultant: at an automotive manufacturer (2021–2023, programme of around 100 people, P2P team of around 10) and at a telecommunications provider (2024–2025, programme of around 150 people, P2P squad of around 20). In addition, a carve-in into an existing SAP system as SAP MM project lead at a port and logistics group (2025–2026, project of around 30 people). Focus: requirements analysis and process design with business, IT and integrator, release workflows for purchase requisitions and orders, functional business tests and UAT, validation of P2P migration objects in test runs and cutover, and hypercare. Migration objects: business partners (suppliers), material master data, purchasing info records, purchasing contracts and purchase orders; in the carve-in material masters, contracts and purchase orders. Tools: SAP Migration Cockpit and LSMW. Since 2026 he has also been supporting the post-go-live phase of an S/4HANA project at a German federally owned company. ### Does Sebastian Hoppe have project management experience? Yes. Most recently SAP MM project lead for the carve-in of a business unit at a port and logistics group (2025–2026) with a team of 10–15 people from business, IT and service providers: project organisation, schedule and cutover management, go-live and hypercare. In migration and rollout programmes he held sub-project or workstream responsibility for P2P, repeatedly managing the implementation partner (telecommunications provider, intralogistics group, automotive manufacturer). Budget responsibility for a near-shore development provider in Romania. Agile (Scrum, squads) and traditional methods, managed with Jira and Confluence. Certified IPMA Level D. No line management responsibility. ### How does Sebastian Hoppe use AI in procurement and in his daily work? In projects he designs AI-supported procurement processes, most recently for info record maintenance and requests for quotation (RFQ) with SAP S/4HANA and Microsoft Copilot Studio: data analysis, use cases from supplier selection to bid comparison, integration concept. Day to day he uses Claude and Microsoft Copilot to analyse requirements and data, draft concepts, specifications and test cases, and automate small tools; confidential client data only in environments approved by the client. This site is an example in itself: Sebastian maintains his CV through an AI assistant via a standardised interface (MCP), the public version is anonymised and checked automatically, and this assistant answers questions only from that data, using an open language model and without tracking. ### Which e-procurement solutions has he worked with? Most deeply with WPS4 / wescale Procure: implementations and group-wide rollouts since 2015, first at the solution provider, later as a consultant and on the client side with responsibility for the implementation partner. Typical work includes integration with SAP (purchase requisitions and orders, web services, RFC, SSO via SAML2) and with marketplaces. Also SAP SRM, SAP Central Procurement Hub, SAP Fieldglass and GEP SMART in migration programmes. He knows SAP Ariba from a global transformation programme (assessment of system landscape, master data and interfaces), not from leading an implementation. He knows IVALUA from the L3 P2R certification (2026); there is no completed IVALUA project yet, but he gets up to speed quickly. He has not worked with Coupa, Jaggaer or Onventis so far. ### Which parts of procure-to-pay does he cover? His focus is indirect procurement, from requisition through approval and purchase order to goods receipt: material group, G/L account and buyer determination, release workflows for requisitions and orders, catalogue and services procurement (MM-SRV), contracts and master data (info records, conditions). Sourcing and tendering were part of almost every project, for example with an RFQ tool at the solution provider or with GEP SMART, including full tests of the sourcing processes within the P2P flow. He validated and tested invoice verification in two S/4HANA migrations, but it is not his core area. Direct procurement and production material are not his focus. ### What experience does he have with testing, cutover and hypercare? Part of every major project: functional business tests and UAT, in depth in the S/4HANA migrations at an automotive manufacturer and a telecommunications provider: test planning, test case design and defect management as business consultant together with IT and adjacent business functions. In addition, quality assurance of the process design, validation of migration objects, creating and tracking cutover plans, go-live support and hypercare management. Test management tools: SAP Solution Manager (at an automotive manufacturer, a telecommunications provider and currently at a German federally owned company), HP ALM and Jira. ### Does he have public sector experience? Yes, currently in the S/4HANA project of a German federally owned company (P2P team of around 30 people), and previously at a statutory health insurer. He is used to alignment with business departments and staff units and to formal decision papers. He has no in-depth knowledge of public procurement law. He has not had a security clearance so far but would be willing to obtain one. ### Which industries has he worked in? Automotive, logistics, telecommunications, intralogistics, pharma and lab suppliers, technology, consumer goods, banking, healthcare and the public sector. He is open to any industry for new projects. ### What sets him apart from other SAP procurement consultants? He knows e-procurement and SAP purchasing from three perspectives: at the solution provider, in consulting and on the client side as a business consultant who leads implementation partners on the functional side. This lets him speak the language of business, IT and service providers and translate between them. Clients describe him as structured and quick to get up to speed. He stays until the end, from requirements through testing and cutover into hypercare. And he uses AI in practice, in projects and in his own work; this site is one example. Ja. ### Was unterscheidet ihn von anderen SAP-Einkaufsberatern?
